POSITION PURPOSE

The Ski Manufacturing Engineer ensures that product concepts developed by the engineering team can be translated into efficient, stable, and cost‑effective manufacturing processes across all international production sites. This role acts as the key technical interface between product development and manufacturing. This role advises developers on design‑for‑manufacturing and supporting plants in producing high‑quality skis consistently and economically.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Ensure new product ideas for Elevate Outdoor Collective ski brands are manufacturable, cost‑efficient, and aligned with production capabilities
  • Serve as the primary interface between product development and manufacturing
  • Evaluate concepts for feasibility, process risks, and cost implications
  • Advise product developers on design‑for‑manufacturing and process‑optimized solutions
  • Coordinate communication between development and global production teams
  • Support the industrialization and ramp‑up of new products in manufacturing
  • Understand and compare production processes at our plants in Straubing and China to ensure consistent product quality
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and standardization
  • Maintain technical documentation and production‑related data

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production/Process Engineering or related technical field
  • Must be familiar with materials used in ski manufacturing, especially composites, wood, polymers
  • Solid understanding of product development principles and manufacturing processes Passion for winter sports and skiing
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on quality, cost efficiency, and process reliability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Willingness to relocate to Straubing and travel regularly to international production sites
  • Proficiency in German and English
  • Strong MS Office skills; basic CAD knowledge beneficial
